Late post for week of May 3, 2010
Foote Street Farmstand Menu week of May 3rd:
After a big gardening day, the only cooking finished is the bread which is rising. Everything else will be prepared on Tuesday and finished throughout the day.
Fresh Salsa~Organic Longwind Farms tomatoes, organic onions, our garlic, organic cilantro, local organic cider vinegar, organic lemon & lime juices, olive oil, salt & pepper.
Potato Salad with Fiddlehead Ferns~Local red potatoes, caramelized red onions, local fiddleheads & leeks, local organic cider vinegar, sherry and/or malt vinegar, olive oil, fresh herbs, salt & pepper.
Quiche~Local organic spinach & organic Pa. mushrooms, local eggs, local cheddar & Vt. Ayr cheeses, local milk, vinegars, salt, pepper & nutmeg (with or without Duclos & Thompson Farm Canadian bacon), in an all butter wheat crust.
I’m still thinking about a soup...and it's Carrot-Ginger!
Early seedling pre-order plants are ready!
Lots of rhubarb, some spinach & asparagus is available from our garden. Folks are loving the Elmer Farm salad mix and Mtn. Yard Farm spinach, arugula & braising mix - - try some if you haven’t! Also still local: garlic, carrots, potatoes...
Many seedlings are for sale and we have hanging flower baskets for Mother’s Day.
Open Tuesday - Saturday 10-5
