Foote Street Farmstand Menu week of May 24th:

Due to the heat & the demands of the seedlings, I’ll keep the menu light & try to have it done by wednesday.

Gazpacho~Local pesticide-free tomatoes, gourmet canadian cucumbers, red onions & fresh herbs with oil & vinegars.

Potato-crusted quiche, with asparagus, of course! And Vt. Ayr Cheese, local eggs, organic onions, etc.

Lots of rhubarb, some spinach & asparagus is available from our garden. We have Nola’s salad mix. Also local: garlic, carrots, pea greens, asparagus...

Many organic seedlings, seeds & seed potatoes are for sale.

The seedling pre-orders that were to be picked up June 1st should be ready by the weekend. Call ahead if you want them earlier & we’ll do our best!

Baked Tofu~Local organic tofu tossed with organic ginger, our garlic, olive oil, sesame oil, local organic cider vinegar, organic rice vinegar, local honey, organic sesame seeds, & wheat-free soy sauce.

Asian slaw~Organic cabbage, local organic carrots, our cilantro & hot peppers, organic lime juice, peanuts, organic brown rice vinegar, local honey, Organic sunflower oil, cumin, coriander, salt & pepper.

Spanakopita~local organic spinach, organic red onions, local feta, local cottage cheese, local eggs, organic phyllo dough, local butter, olive oil, Balsamic vinegar, sesame seeds,
salt & pepper

Frittata~Local eggs, with wild leeks, organic crimini mushrooms, asparagus, local goat & cow brie cheeses, local organic milk, salt, pepper & nutmeg.

Foote Street Farmstand Menu week of May 10th:

Broccoli Salad w/ Sesame~Organic broccoli, steamed & tossed with a sesame & fresh organic ginger vinaigrette. wheat & dairy-free.

Savory Slaw~Organic red & green cabbage, organic local carrots, organic red onion & organic parsley tossed with organic lemon juice, local organic cider vinegar, olive oil, caraway, salt & pepper. Wheat & dairy-free.

Turkey soup with wheat berries~Misty Knoll turkey, local organic wheat berries, many organic & local veggies & wild leeks, sauteed in olive oil - - dairy-free.

Late post for week of May 3, 2010




Foote Street Farmstand Menu week of May 3rd:

After a big gardening day, the only cooking finished is the bread which is rising. Everything else will be prepared on Tuesday and finished throughout the day.

Fresh Salsa~Organic Longwind Farms tomatoes, organic onions, our garlic, organic cilantro, local organic cider vinegar, organic lemon & lime juices, olive oil, salt & pepper.

Potato Salad with Fiddlehead Ferns~Local red potatoes, caramelized red onions, local fiddleheads & leeks, local organic cider vinegar, sherry and/or malt vinegar, olive oil, fresh herbs, salt & pepper.

Quiche~Local organic spinach & organic Pa. mushrooms, local eggs, local cheddar & Vt. Ayr cheeses, local milk, vinegars, salt, pepper & nutmeg (with or without Duclos & Thompson Farm Canadian bacon), in an all butter wheat crust.

I’m still thinking about a soup...and it's Carrot-Ginger!
