Come and Enjoy This Weeks Food!!!
Savory Bread Pudding: Otter Creek Bakery Challah and French Baguette, Milk, Eggs, Blue Ledge La Luna and Herb Chevre, Butter, Fresh Herbs (Parsley, Chives, Rosemary), Salt.
Fruit Salad: Peaches, Melons, Blueberries, Blackberries, Orange Juice, Lavender Simple Syrup, Mint.
Our produce:  fresh garlic, herbs, beets, bell peppers, hot peppers, summer squash, spinach, swiss chard & kale.
Local greens include:  Nola’s organic salad mix & Mtn. Yard Farm organic arugula, Spinach.

farmstand weekend update

For this weekend, we're making peach pies with the fabulous Pennsylvania peaches that are also available by the pound.  We're also making triple berry pie, rustic plum tarts, and raspberry pie.  Otter Creek Bakery delivered fresh bread today and our first Vermont Organic corn arrived from Westminster Organics yesterday - - the best yet.  Pictured below are four of our summer staff hard at work:  Kori, Schuyler, Kelsey & Britta.  We sell bouquets and will offer pick-your-own flowers for the month of August.  Think of us for wedding flowers!

Foote Street Farmstand Menu as of July 16th:

Fresh Salsa: local organic tomatoes, our garlic, our cilantro, organic onions, organic lemon juice, cider vinegar, salt & pepper.

Guacamole: organic avocado, lime juice, salt & pepper.

Buttermilk Chevre Dressing: local chevre, local organic buttermilk, organic lemon juice, white wine vinegar, olive oil, salt.

Fruit Salad: Watermelon, peaches & blueberries in a light lemony simple syrup.

Coming soon: Peach & corn slaw.

Pies: Peach Pie, Blueberry Currant Pie, Triple Berry Pie (Black and Red Raspberry and Blueberry), and local Apple Pie.

Tarts: our grape jelly with black raspberries and local champagne currants. Also just with local currants.

Otter Creek Bakery Bread: French Baguette, Seeded Baguette, Sourdough Blue Cheese & Fresh Dill, Challah.

local food

I don't usually get personal, but our dinner last night inspired me to wax local...From the garden: escarole & fennel as the base for our salad with a side dish of fresh shell peas, barely cooked. Also in the salad: the last of Sunrise Orchard's McIntosh apples, still crunchy, little cubes of cheddar cheese & our fresh chives all tossed in a light vinaigrette. Served with local Lincoln Peak Winery's chilled white wine and eaten to the songs of the wood thrush. Doesn't get much better...

Greens & Feta: local organic kale, mustard, mizuna & arugula with caramelized organic onions, local feta, olive oil, salt & pepper.

Chickpeas & Chard: organic chick peas, local swiss chard, organic carrots, organic red onions, our parsley, our garlic, local tomatoes, local white wine, organic lemon juice, olive oil & spices.

Creamy Leek & Potato Soup (no cream!): organic leeks, local organic potatoes, local butter, otter creek bakery bread, our tarragon, salt & pepper. yum.

Gazpacho: tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, white wine vinegar, pomegranate molasses, salt.
serve with feta and toast!

Chilled Peach Soup: peaches, yogurt, hibiscus tea, orange juice, quince syrup, sugar, nutmeg.
garnish with mint!

We are now offering Fresh Salsa as well as our own new garlic! Cold soups will be available next week, along with Buttermilk Chevre Dressing. We will be closed this Sunday 7/4. Happy Fourth!
