local food

I don't usually get personal, but our dinner last night inspired me to wax local...From the garden: escarole & fennel as the base for our salad with a side dish of fresh shell peas, barely cooked. Also in the salad: the last of Sunrise Orchard's McIntosh apples, still crunchy, little cubes of cheddar cheese & our fresh chives all tossed in a light vinaigrette. Served with local Lincoln Peak Winery's chilled white wine and eaten to the songs of the wood thrush. Doesn't get much better...
